James has an exceptional blend of commercialism, technical, analytical and data management know how with a practical focus on delivering beneficial change.  He has the ability to maintain a high level vision with the vigilance to pay attention to the detail that often gets overlooked.


James has created solutions that underpinned over £250m of incremental revenue at O2 and transformed the Business Intelligence capabilities at British Gas while realising significant operational efficiencies. Defined the Information Strategy and Data Ecosystem for Sainsbury’s. Delivered key analytics that enabled BSkyB to achieve hugely challenging 10m customer and <10% churn targets and set key market, product and acquisition strategies at Hutchison 3G.


Over the last 20 years, James has not only delivered great outcomes across a range of sectors, but also built both a wealth of experience and influence in the data world. He is a Fellow of the IDM, Chair of the DMA Data Council and Women in Data Committee Member.  Named in the Data IQ Big Data top 100 five times and a regular speaker and panelist at leading industry events.


Now advising and consulting, but previously led strategy, insights, analytics, CRM, information management and governance teams in the supermarket, utilities, retail, financial services, telco and media sectors for organisations such as Sainsbury’s, O2, BSkyB, British Gas and Hutchison 3G.
